MAKING NOISE AT A GIRLS GUN GETAWAY

In my Introduction to the Girls Gun Getaway, I shared with you a little bit about how the whole event got started and who was there. Today I want to start delving in to the details. (Thank you for your patience on this subject. I spent the last week in Vegas and didn’t get a chance to write much about the subject before I flew out).

I was lucky enough to get to travel with Shelley and Anette out of Seattle and meet up with Natalie for the last leg of our journey.… Read the rest

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE GIRLS GUN GETAWAY

Many of you have probably already caught wind of the Girls Gun Getaway via #girlsgungetaway. It’s been talked about on facebook, blogged about at Ammo Land and Gunmart Blog, and tweeted about like crazy. Pictures have cropped up, and one or two have even gone viral. But what the heck was this getaway really all about? Well, as Natalie from Girls Guide to Guns explained in her article, it started out as a conversation on twitter between us ladies, and quickly grew into something much bigger and whole heck of a lot more fun then tweeting.… Read the rest

MY ADVENTURE AT CRIMSON TRACE

This article is purely about my trip to CTC, I will be following it up with more articles about lasers as they are my latest fascination. In follow up articles I will go into more detail about the pros and cons of the laserguards vs. the lasergrips, tactics for using a laser, etc.

When I realized that Crimson Trace is located in my own backyard (Wilsonville, OR), I was determined to find out more. I am a fan of the Crimson Trace products, so naturally I was curious about work that goes into making their products.… Read the rest

GIRLS GUN GETAWAY, CC FASHION SHOW AND MORE…

Hey everybody!

You may have seen my tweets and status updates about a Girls Gun Getaway (#GirlsGunGetaway). I am excited to announce that the time has finally arrived to pack my bags and head out for a weekend of friends, shooting, explosions, hunting, and whatever else our clever minds come up with.

As if one getaway isn’t enough, I will be flying back to home-base on Monday night, (make it back home around 2AM Tuesday morning).  I then fly out to Vegas with some good friends and won’t be back home until July.… Read the rest

GUNWAY’S 2 GUN GIVEAWAY

Are you a member of Gunway yet? If not, you should check it out. I’ve been singing Gunway’s praises for months now, and I’m not about to stop.  Gunway is a community of gun nuts who enjoy social media and interaction. It’s best described as a mash-up of Pinterest and Facebook for gun lovers. I have tons of fun interacting with other men and women who have the same passion as I do and I have received a warm reception from other members as well as the Gunway staff.

PACKING PRETTY’S NEW PROJECT IS ABOUT YOU

I am currently in the process of renovating the Packing Pretty office. I’ve picked the colors (no I’m not painting the walls pink) and some of the wall art; but I need your help for the most important part. I want to surround myself with inspiration while I work, and YOU are my inspiration. You are constantly reminding me why I do what I do. Why I write, why I teach, why I care. You are what drives me, keeps me in check and encourages me to be better.… Read the rest

DRIVING ARMED – Safely Stowing Your Firearm

Carrying a gun creates all sorts of obstacles, and part of the fun is learning how to overcome them.  One of the obstacles that we often forget to learn how to work around,  and practice overcoming is carrying in a vehicle.

I know, I know … we’d all love to just forget about this  issue and have Red Jacket build us each our own armored vehicles. I wonder what kind of magic they could work on a pink Humvee?

For those of you who don’t have the option of destroying the enemy with the push of a button from inside your vehicle, I submit to you this article – the first in the “Driving Armed” series that I will be publishing.… Read the rest

BREAKING BOARDS AND TAKING NAMES

Packing Pretty is a self-defense blog. While I primarily focus on my area of expertise (firearms and shooting), I want to make sure that several types of defense are introduced and covered here at Packing Pretty.

Just last weekend I had the pleasure of watching  an awesome demonstration at USWC Taekwondo by Amanda. The first thing I noticed about Amanda was that she exerted an aura of confidence, strength and determination that was seen and felt by all who watched her. As soon as I saw her, I knew I had track down and talk to this pretty little pistol!… Read the rest
