RUNWAY RUNDOWN : THE ORGANIZATION AND HOLSTER LINE-UP AT THE CC HOLSTER FASHION SHOW

While the first annual concealed carry holster fashion show was huge hit both in person and online, it wasn’t without a huge amount of preparation. In January of this year Trish Cutler had an idea, she emailed me and I knew right away that she was on to something really special. After seven months of intense networking, organization, coordination, and with help of many of other people – it became a reality. Trish told me that she was so busy planning the event, that her husband hadn’t eaten a home-cooked meal in months.… Read the rest

FIRST ANNUAL CONCEALED CARRY HOLSTER FASHION SHOW SLIDE SHOW

Since this is such a hot topic right now I decided to go ahead and post a slide show that Armed Candy graciously made of the event! Tomorrow I will have a detailed list of the holsters up for you.

HEELS AND HOLSTERS – AN OVERVIEW OF THE CC HOLSTER FASHION SHOW

Although all the hype about  the Concealed Carry Holster Fashion Show was primarily about the runway show itself, there was really much more to the event than just heels and holsters.  In fact, there was an entire day and evening of education available for women interested in responsible firearm ownership and use

Some notes about the event :

  • The purpose of the event was to educate, empower and enable safe and responsible firearm ownership
  • Tickets sold out in advance – we expect a larger group next year!
  • Around 250 people attended the event
  • All of our models were gun-friendly volunteers who dedicated ample time to make the runway show happen
  • The local Fox news showed up and did a piece on the event.

THE HEART OF THE MATTER – WHY WE CARRY

I know that everyone wants to hear about the holster fashion show, and I  promise to get that up as soon as possible. This is an article I wrote a few weeks ago, but haven’t had the time to publish until now. I hope this holds you over…

LIVING IT UP AT CRIMSON TRACE MEDIA DAYS

Saturday night, my husband, Dave and I checked in to Hotel 50 in downtown Portland, Oregon to kick off the Crimson Trace Media Days. After meeting up with Shelley Rae from Western Shooting Journal, we headed down to Portland City Grill for happy hour and dinner with the media group as well some really great reps from Nike, Otis, Danner, and of course Iain and the gang from Crimson Trace. Leatherman was kind enough to sponsor our dinner and drinks and provide us each with a LED LENSER P3 flashlight. Thanks, Leatherman!

Sunday was spent at Albany Rifle & Pistol Club.… Read the rest

TAKING A STAND ON THE UN ARMS TREATY

This is not a political blog, the second amendment is for everybody, despite their political views. The right to choose whether or not to own firearm does not discriminate. The right to defend one’s self does not discriminate.  It’s about having the ability and the freedom to make a choice.

There are people who are attacking that right, that freedom to make a choice. The NRA’s stance here is right on and  it makes me proud.

GRACIE MCKEE IS PACKING PRETTY – THE WHOLE STORY

I know the electronic version of this story has gone out already on Facebook and twitter, but the electronic version leaves out a lot.

For those who don’t know what I’m talking about – Sue Vorenberg , a features writer at the Columbain wrote a Sunday feature on me last weekend. I have to admit, I am both proud and humbled by what was said about me, and would like to share it with you today.

WHY CALEB WOULD WALK 500 MILES AND OTHER GREAT READS

I have been traveling a lot lately – and that’s not about to stop until the end of July when I return home from the Concealed Carry Holster Fashion Show in Hudson, NY. That doesn’t mean I’m done traveling for the year, just that things will slow down a bit for me. I apologize for how infrequent my articles have been as of late due to my hectic schedule.

I am hoping to have a holster review up for you this week (fingers crossed), so please keep an eye out for that.… Read the rest
