Every once in a while, I’m allowed to do this….

Shooting the Barrett 50 BMG, what can I say? AWESOME! It’s a life changing experience…and not just financially—The rifle alone costs around $10,000 (that’s before optics or any other accessories), and each time you pull the trigger you just shot a five dollar bill.
My thanks to Gregg Smith and David Smith for making this possible! Watch Gregg as he points out where I hit. Enjoy!

Any experienced shooter will tell you that they would rather bring a rifle to a gun fight then a handgun.… Read the rest

I mentioned in the M16-14SF knife review that the legal maximum blade length is 3 inches in WA state. After being corrected by a reader, and researching it myself; I found that WA State does not in fact have any RCWs (Revised Code of Washinton) stating the legal limit on blade length. It is important to note however, that some cities have laws regarding blade length. For instance, maximum legal blade length in Seattle is 3.5inches. My apologies for the incorrect information initially given in the article, it has been edited to reflect the information brought to light.… Read the rest

So I was at the range teaching an Intro to Oregon (and FL) Concealed Carry class on Saturday. Everything was pretty much status quoe, but when we got to the live shooting portion, I shot terrible on my demos. I was pretty irritated with myself; so after class I shot about 200 rounds of 9mm through my XDM (also known as the Pink Gun of Shame) very slowly so I could concentrate on the fundamentals.… Read the rest

Note: I made the following video to be watched as a supplement to the written review below. The video alone does not contain my complete review.
When I received the M16-14SF in the mail from CRKT, I was ecstatic about the size of the knife. As I always say with firearms and knives alike, bigger is better. The M16 surely meets any size standards I may have on a pocket folder. The one problem I face is that I cannot legally carry this knife out and about as the blade is 3.875 inches as my local city limit on blade length is 3.5in.… Read the rest

Hi. My name is Gracie, and I’m a gunohaulic. I am addicted to buying guns. I have a lot of firearms (more than 30, less than 50). That’s not all that many guns you say? Well, I agree. But for a 24 year old girl who has only been acquiring them for 3 years, that’s a decent selction.
Most of my posts on this blog are informational, but today I’m deviating from the status quo to talk about guns on a more personal level.… Read the rest

Due to the great response to my “EVERYTHING IS A WEAPON” post, Packing Pretty is holding its first ever contest.

One of my favorite concepts to bring up when I’m instructing women in self-defense is that just about EVERYTHING CAN BE USED AS A WEAPON. I don’t like to confine women’s minds into believing that a handgun is the only route to self-defense. Some women don’t want a gun, and other times, women who do have guns can’t always access them easily. That is why I teach my students to view everything as a potential tool to aid in their defense.… Read the rest

As a mom to three dogs ( 2 beagles and a corgi) walks, runs and playdates at the dog park are a normal part of my day-to-day life. As I was gearing up to take the dogs out the other day, it occurred to me that, once again, I had almost forgotten to bring those little plastic poo-bags. I shared a quiet chuckle with myself as I contemplated just how wrong it is that I never forget to put my gun on when I leave the house; however, I always forget to bring the other imperative items that every other girl in the world wouldn’t leave behind (like my cell phone, chapstick , and in this case, poo-bags).… Read the rest
