This is me in the last stage of the May 2011 Action Pistol Match…The idea is to stop the immediate threat with the 2×4 because that is what I have in my hand at the moment, then switch to my gun. I have never done this before, and this is why I fumbled getting the gun out of the holster. You will also notice I am shooting fairly slow, I shot slower to improve my accuracy in this stage. In some stages, speed is the main factor, in others accuracy is.

Behind me, is the Chief Range Safety Officer, Director of the Firearms Training Dept. at CRPC and Range Master Gregg Smith – my mentor and bestie.  You can see he backs away from me pretty far; he claims he trusts me with his life, but I don’t think he trusts me with a 2×4.
